The General Authority for the Care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has begun maintenance work on the Kaaba using the latest technologies and advanced standards. Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah Tawfiq Al-Rabiah announced the start of periodic maintenance for the Kaaba as part of the continuous care for the House of God and preserving its architectural components in a manner befitting its high religious status. Al-Rabiah, via his official account on the X platform, stated that the Kaaba enjoys continuous care and attention from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, continuing the Kingdom's steadfast approach in serving the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors. In the same context, he noted that "The General Authority for the Care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque is carrying out maintenance work using the latest technologies and advanced standards, ensuring the preservation of the integrity and sustainability of the Kaaba's components as part of a comprehensive system of services provided to the guests of God." Al-Rabiah concluded his statement by welcoming the guests of God, saying: "May God welcome you in Mecca," affirming the readiness of services and the continued care for visitors to the House of God. Meanwhile, Head of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque Sheikh Abdulrahman Al-Sudais confirmed that "the periodic maintenance of the Kaaba is a clear manifestation of honoring the ancient House, glorifying the rituals of God, and fulfilling His rights in a manner worthy of its status and sanctity in the hearts of Muslims." According to the Authority, the Kaaba's kiswah (cover) is inspected daily, with periodic maintenance carried out by a team of specialized Saudi workers, some of whom have up to 29 years of experience. The Authority stated that "the team inspects all parts of the kiswah and the rings securing it, and immediately repairs any issues found, in accordance with an approved daily plan and the highest standards of precision and quality in performance and execution in record time." Additionally, the Two Holy Mosques Affairs regularly works on tightening and weighing the Kaaba's kiswah and securing it from the edges, as well as cleaning the kiswah from all sides, and replacing the decorations of the Black Stone and the Yemeni Corner to maintain their beauty and appearance in the best possible condition.
