Al-Nasr continued its climb to the top of the Saudi Pro League with a 2-0 victory over Al-Ahli on Saturday. The match was held at Prince Hazza bin Abdulaziz Stadium in Najran. The Riyadh-based side increased its points tally to 73, widening the gap to five points over second-placed Al-Hilal, who have 68 points. Al-Nasr achieved its 14th consecutive win, largely thanks to the brilliant performance of the Portuguese duo Cristiano Ronaldo and Joao Felix, who scored the goals in the 15th and 47th minutes. Al-Nasr coach Jorge Jesus expressed his satisfaction with the win, saying at a press conference: "It's amazing to achieve 14 consecutive wins and maintain the same pace in the decisive stages. Al-Nasr is on the right track, and we look forward to continuing to get positive results." He also commented on referee Khaled Al-Turais's performance, saying: "In my opinion, he was not up to the task. He was influenced by the atmosphere of the match and made three wrong decisions against Al-Nasr, including not awarding a penalty, not sending off an Al-Ahli player for a strong tackle on Semakhan despite already having a yellow card, as well as warning the latter without a clear reason." At the end of the 28th round, with six rounds remaining, Al-Nasr leads the table with 73 points, followed by Al-Hilal (68 points), then Al-Ahli (66 points), and Al-Qadsiah fourth with 61 points. The rest of the positions are, in order: Al-Ittihad, Al-Ettifaq, Al-Hazem, Neom, Al-Fayha, Al-Batin, Al-Shabab, Al-Kholood, Al-Fateh, Al-Damac, Al-Riyadh, Al-Ahli, and Al-Najma. Ronaldo increased his tally to 24 goals in the top scorers' race, led by Ivan Tony with 27 goals. He now needs just one goal to match his tally from last season, bringing his career total to 968 goals as he continues his journey towards the 1000-goal mark.
