The Saudi Football Federation's Disciplinary and Ethics Committee rejected on Thursday a complaint filed by Al-Ittihad against Englishman Ivan Tony, striker of their rival Al-Ahli, regarding the latter's celebration after scoring his team's third goal in their league match, which ended with Al-Ahli's victory. Al-Ittihad demanded the player be punished, considering that he made obscene, insulting, offensive, and discriminatory gestures towards Al-Ittihad's fans during the player's goal celebration. The committee stated that after receiving the complaint, it contacted the player Ivan Tony and decided to accept the complaint procedurally but reject it on its merits in a decision that can be appealed to the Appeals Committee.
