The Saudi Professional League Association is considering changes to some league rounds in anticipation of decisions by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) regarding new dates for the AFC Champions League Elite 1 and 2 competitions. This comes after the postponement of matches in the West Zone due to emergency conditions in the region. According to sources within the Saudi League, several time options are being considered, including the possibility of advancing one or two rounds of the league. With nine rounds remaining, the league is scheduled to conclude in May, allowing the Saudi national team to begin its final preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Among the rounds targeted for advancement is the 28th, the penultimate round. Meetings are currently underway between league officials and representatives of participating clubs to discuss the matter.
