Irish coach Brendan Rodgers (52) is close to taking over the Saudi club Al-Qadsiah, replacing Spanish coach Michel Gonzalez. Gonzalez was fired on Sunday due to declining results after three seasons with the team, which is owned by the oil giant Saudi Aramco. Saudi Al-Qadsiah Club's company issued a statement early Monday officially announcing the departure of the Spanish coach. The statement thanked the coach for leading the team to the Premier League two seasons ago and reaching second place last season. Rodgers is the former coach of Liverpool (2013-2015) and Leicester City (2019-2023). He began his coaching career in 2008 at Watford and has coached many clubs, including the Scottish Celtic.
