Today, the spokesman for the Ministry of Defense of Saudi Arabia, General Turki Al-Maliki, announced the interception of two drones that attempted to target the Ras Tanura refinery. He confirmed the success of the interception operation. Al-Maliki clarified that no injuries were reported among civilians as a result of the interception, but a limited fire broke out inside the refinery due to falling debris, which was quickly brought under control. He added that the interception caused debris to fall near civilian facilities and people. A responsible source in the Ministry of Energy stated that some operational units at the refinery were shut down as a precautionary measure, without affecting petroleum and its derivatives supplies to local markets.
