China's permanent representative to the United Nations, Fu Cong, expressed his concern over the lack of effective implementation of the provisions following the Minsk Agreements, which led to a total escalation of the crisis in Ukraine. In a briefing session of the UN Security Council, Fu pointed out that China advocates for the peaceful resolution of conflicts through dialogue and consultation, in accordance with the UN Charter.

Fu highlighted that China proposed a four-point guideline that includes respect for the sovereignty of all countries, respect for UN principles, consideration of legitimate security concerns, and support for the peaceful resolution of crises. China has been committed to diplomatic mediation with Russia, Ukraine, and other relevant parties, actively participating in the consideration of the Ukrainian issue at the UN and its Security Council.

In the talks in Riyadh, with the presence of the Saudi Foreign Minister and other US officials, the importance of addressing the root causes of the crisis in Ukraine through negotiation to achieve lasting stability in the region was emphasized. China has also collaborated with Brazil and other countries in establishing the Group of Friends for Peace.

The Chinese permanent representative emphasized China's welcome of all efforts dedicated to seeking peace in Ukraine, including the recent agreement between the United States and Russia to begin talks. He recalled the Minsk Agreements supported by the UN Security Council ten years ago as the correct path to resolve differences through dialogue and negotiation. In his remarks, he called on Europe to work for peace in the Ukrainian conflict.
