
During a visit to Saudi Arabia yesterday, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo discussed with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman a range of regional and international issues. It was decided to postpone the mini-summit of the League of Arab States, scheduled for Thursday in Riyadh, for discussions on Trump's plan for Gaza. An extraordinary meeting in Cairo, scheduled for February 27, was also postponed due to logistical reasons.
At the same time, the European Union expressed its readiness to discuss with Israel the need to return Gaza residents to their homeland, with Jordan's King Abdullah II reaffirming his position regarding the Palestinians, rejecting ideas of their expulsion or resettlement, as well as the creation of an alternative state.
During a meeting, Pompeo and the Saudi Crown Prince discussed the situation in Gaza and the surrounding areas.
