Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umra Tawfiq Al-Rabiah has inaugurated the 'Rabiat Al-Khadra' project in Mina after its completion and operational readiness as part of the preparations for the 1447 AH/2026 Hajj season. The project is one of the specialized initiatives aimed at developing services for pilgrims through modern construction solutions that contribute to maximizing the use of space within Mina, increasing its capacity, and improving the quality of accommodation, thereby enhancing the efficiency of services provided to the guests of Allah. The project, located in the eastern part of Mina, covers an area of over 33,000 square meters with a built-up area of approximately 48,000 square meters distributed across 62 buildings. The project can accommodate more than 15,000 pilgrims within an integrated system supported by transportation and logistics services that facilitate the movement of pilgrims. It is worth noting that Mina is a valley surrounded by mountains, located east of Mecca between Mecca and Muzdalifah, and is considered one of the most prominent holy sites. It is known as the 'City of Tents' and is the largest in the world, hosting over two million pilgrims for overnight stay during the Day of Arafat and the Days of Tashreeq. It is the site for the ritual of stoning the devil (Ramy al-Jamarat), sacrifice (Qurbani), and overnight stay, and is distinguished by its fire-resistant tents and comprehensive facilities.
