The head of the astronomical society in Jeddah, engineer Majid Abu Zakhar, stated that the moon of the month of Shaban will be visible after sunset on this Friday. The moon will appear in the southwest horizon next to the planets Saturn and Venus, allowing it to be seen with the naked eye against a clear sky in different regions of the Arab world.
"The moon will be more distant from the sunlight after sunset compared to the previous night, which makes it brighter and higher in the sky," explained Abu Zakhar. "In the coming nights, one may see the bright side of the moon reflecting light from the Earth."
In the coming days, the moonlight will gradually intensify, it will rise higher in the sky after sunset and remain longer after the beginning of the night due to its constant movement away from the location of sunset, added Abu Zakhar.
