Hervé Renard Returns to Lead Saudi National Team

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation officially announced the return of French coach Hervé Renard to work with the national team. This came shortly after the termination of the mutual agreement and the departure of Italian coach Roberto Mancini. The Saudi Arabian national team released a video on the platform, where Renard speaks in English: "I didn’t plan to leave, but when your homeland knocks at your door, you have to answer. My connections with Saudi Arabia, the fans, the players, and all the memories can't be forgotten. My story with Saudi Arabia is not finished, and I’m grateful to return."

It is noted that the Saudi Football Association has temporarily terminated the contract with Mancini last Thursday due to poor results of the green team in the decisive stage of the qualifying matches for the 2026 World Cup. It is important to emphasize that Renard has already lifted the national team to its peak potential, when he magnificently led the team to a historic victory over Argentina at the 2022 World Cup, before "Tango" knocked them out and won the trophy for the third time in their history.
