Italian coach Roberto Mancini decided to reduce part of the penalty sanctions in his contract with the Saudi federation. According to the newspaper 'Mal' of Saudi Arabia, Mancini refused approximately 70% of the penalty sanctions set in his contract with the Saudi Football Federation. It was previously announced that the collaboration between Mancini and the Saudi Football Federation had concluded.

Mancini led the Saudi Arabia national team in 18 matches during less than a year. Under his leadership, the team reached the Round of 16 of the 2024 AFC Cup in Qatar. However, the national team lost under his guidance seven points in the qualifying matches of the World Cup.
