The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development in Saudi Arabia has launched the «General Policy for Youth Development», which represents a national guiding framework reflecting the Kingdom's commitment to youth development and enhancing their active participation in social development, within the targets of Saudi Vision 2030. The policy aims to unify national efforts towards youth, achieve the highest degree of integration between government, private, and non-profit entities, which contributes to developing a stimulating and sustainable development environment, and enhances the ability of youth to contribute effectively to the Kingdom's progress and prosperity. The policy focuses on five main areas, starting with economic empowerment and community participation, passing through education and lifelong learning, and ending with health, well-being, national identity, and belonging. During the preparation phase, the Ministry conducted benchmarking comparisons with 20 leading countries in youth development, in addition to organizing more than 34 workshops with relevant stakeholders, holding meetings with local and international experts, and implementing field surveys targeting more than 11,000 young men and women from various regions of the Kingdom. The Ministry called on all partners in the national system to contribute to activating the General Policy for Youth Development.
