Ambassador Reema Bandar Al-Saud, representing Saudi Arabia in the U.S., has introduced the inaugural Kering Generation Award in Saudi Arabia to support innovative fashion startups focusing on sustainability. Forbes Middle East has released its list of the Top 20 Arab Women in Government, recognizing female leaders who are effecting changes in public institutions across the region.

One such leader, Bodour Al Qasimi, Chairperson of Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), has secured the third spot on the list. These women are leading various institutions, representing their countries globally, and making advancements particularly in diplomacy, culture, technology, media, and environmental policies.

The UAE stands out with 11 Emirati women on the prestigious list, emphasizing the country's dedication to empowering women in leadership roles. Saudi Arabia follows with four entries, while Egypt is recognized for three impactful women. The influential Emirati figures are driving changes in their respective sectors and contributing to global conversations on governance, diplomacy, and innovation.

The ranking features exceptional female leaders serving in government roles outside ministerial and parliamentary positions, actively engaging in global collaborations to advance progress in their fields. Notable figures include Undersecretary Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi from the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi, who played a vital role in establishing the city as a regional hub for vaccine distribution.

The impact of these leaders expands beyond their borders, with some like Nezha Hayat from Morocco and Mona Al Marri from the UAE, redefining cultural, media governance, and regulatory cooperation on an international level. The list is based on leadership scope, experience, additional positions held, and significant initiatives undertaken in 2024.

These influential women are not only shaping national policies but also influencing global conversations on governance, diplomacy, and innovation.
