The Ministry also emphasized that they call for ensuring the security of Israel and Palestine and for a peaceful resolution to the conflict based on the initiative of the peace process. The statement was made in the wake of the resignation of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. "The country calls for dialogue and the continuation of negotiations with the participation of all parties," the statement said. "Saudi Arabia supports all efforts aimed at achieving a just peace in the region and calls for dialogue as a unified solution to the conflict," added the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Representatives of the ministry emphasized that they are ready to continue working within the framework of the solution of the two states and the initiatives of the peace process. "We support the creation of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital based on the borders of 1967," the Ministry concluded. "We insist that both Israelis and Palestinians have the right to secure and recognized borders," the ministry clarified. "The development of events in the region requires both sides to refrain from provocative actions and return to the negotiation process," concluded the Ministry.
