Saudi writer and playwright, Dr. Marwan Mazini, affirmed that the real Arab theater is a mirror of society and a human message, not just a means for fleeting entertainment. During a session titled 'Theater Between Text and Performance,' Mazini emphasized that a successful dramatic text reflects the pulse of the people and expresses their daily issues. Mazini also pointed out that the success of a theatrical work depends on the integration of the text, direction, and acting, as he stressed that the contemporary actor needs scientific, physical, and psychological training to perform their role responsibly towards the audience. He concluded by saying that Arab theater needs texts drawn from the local reality in a language close to the people, which combines authenticity and renewal.
