The Saudi Food and Drug Authority, the government body responsible for grain purchases in Saudi Arabia, announced an international tender on Thursday to purchase about 300,000 tons of hard wheat flour. The authority said the deadline for bids is Friday, November 21, confirming earlier reports from traders. The shipments will be distributed between two different ports, with 120,000 tons required to arrive in Jeddah and 180,000 tons in Yanbu. The authority did not disclose further details. The authority stated that it requested the supply of five shipments of hard wheat with a protein content of 12.5% from various optional sources to arrive in Saudi Arabia between February and April 2026. Traders said the results are expected to be announced on Monday, November 24.
