
The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development of Saudi Arabia has announced the issuance of a series of resolutions aimed at increasing the share of local workers in 269 different professions with the participation of supervisory bodies. Among them were the professions of dentist, pharmacist, accountant, and engineer.
One of the resolutions includes an increase in the share of local workers in the pharmaceutical professions starting from July 27, 2025: in retail pharmacies to 35%, in hospitals to 65%, and in other areas of pharmaceuticals - up to 55%.
It was also established that a gradual increase in the share of local workers in the profession of dentist will take place: starting from July 27, 2025 - up to 45%, and further after 12 months from the introduction of the resolution - up to 55%. The partnership also presumes an increase in the share of local accountants in five stages over five years, starting from October 27, 2025, beginning with the implementation of the first stage in enterprises where five or more accountants work, within the framework of the professional field of accounting up to 40%, reaching 70%.
