In the urban circuit of Jeddah, free practice sessions were held for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, the fifth race of the Formula One World Championship. The English driver Lando Norris, leader of the championship, showed his speed by finishing in first position. Next to him, his McLaren teammate, the Australian Oscar Piastri, finished in second position, showcasing the team's potential for the race.

In later statements, Norris shared his appreciation of the track and his performance during the practice session, highlighting the importance of maintaining concentration on a demanding urban circuit like Jeddah. Piastri, for his part, expressed satisfaction with his performance and confidence in McLaren's chances for the race this weekend.

One of McLaren's main rivals, the Dutch Max Verstappen from Red Bull, also had a solid performance during the free practice sessions and quickly positioned himself, showing competitive pace that makes him a serious contender. With Verstappen lurking, an exciting battle on the track is expected between the leading teams of Formula One.
