In a world-first, the Saudi Presidency of State Security, in collaboration with Qassim University, has graduated 45 inmates from the General Investigations Prison in Buraydah with master's degrees in four specialized fields. The graduation was based on regular attendance and academic standards comparable to those of Saudi universities. The ceremony was marked by touching moments of pride and joy among the graduates and their families, highlighting the success of the academic rehabilitation program provided by the Presidency of State Security. Through a comprehensive educational environment, inmates were able to transform into knowledgeable and academically proficient researchers. Dr. Fahd Ahmed, the Vice President for Educational Affairs at Qassim University, stated that the university is proud of this unique partnership with the Presidency of State Security. He noted that the graduation of a master's cohort in sociology, management, and systems reflects the university's role in developing minds, regardless of time and place. Several graduates expressed their overwhelming happiness, confirming that despite its challenges, the experience was a significant psychological and moral motivator. One inmate said: "This is my second joy with Qassim University, and today I hold my master's degree with pride." Meanwhile, a fellow student confirmed that his average score exceeded 4.8 and said: "We are the first master's cohort in prisons, and we aspire to pursue a doctorate in the future."
